Damien Minton Gallery 2011 I changed course with this exhibition not having a theme or rather the theme was themes. I wanted to create a show where every work could have been a single example of an entire show. This did backfire somewhat although I did recieve some press in the Sydney Morning Herald with a favourable mention from Andrew Frost. But I also received quiet negative reactions that there was no theme, no story had been told, no overarching concept. Yet it’s all in the name so even when one specifically argues a case for a sweep of invention it doesn’t read well. Perhaps it’s viewed as showing off and perhaps there’s some truth in this.
