2010 Damien Minton Gallery
One of the few times when there’s not a lot more to say that is not described in the title. There is a general comment I’d like to add that part of my delight in these works is they have in common with a series of my other works that of the unreral within the real. The idea that any of these situations would be actually possible, all be it, needing an escaped animal from a circus or zoo arriving in a location where there might be an animal mascot. I suppose there is some underlying theme of some sort of great redress for the crimes done to animals over the centuries. There is a nod I’d like to give to Patrica Highsmith for her wonderful book Beastly Murders that is centered around the idea of animal revenge.
